The Power of Faith - How Jesus Healed

0:11 Well, it's spring and it feels different. Feels great. Feels like we got through a winter of uncertainty. Perhaps. Maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel. It's good to have you here. On the Rancho Radio podcast, we talked about the 5th epical Revelation because it's so important. It's the biggest secret out in the open in the last, I don't know, I don't know, couple thousand years maybe. And we're really getting into it and I am encouraged by all the discussion going on in social media. It's a lot of deep discussion going on. If you follow it, we have some of it. We're going to read actually from Paper 149. And so there's another section of the book which talks about the miracles of Christ, because this is the second preaching tour that's underway in my mind, it really opens up the door to the the question of faith.

1:08 So this this segment, this episode is really about the power of faith. So let me read from this paper and again, it's 149 Section 1. And then we'll stop along the way and and get your opinion and I'll share some of my insights. It reads. By the time the camp at Beseda had been broken up, the fame of Jesus, particularly as a healer, had spread to all parts of Palestine and through all of Syria and the surrounding countries. For weeks after they left Beseda, the sick continued to arrive and when they did not find the Master, they would go in search of him. On this tour, Jesus did not deliberately perform any so-called miracles of healing.

1:55 Nevertheless, scores of afflicted found restoration of health and happiness as a result of the reconstructive power of the intense faith which impelled them to seek for healing. The reconstructive power of faith? Hang on to that for a little bit. Quote. There began to appear about the time of this mission and continue throughout the remainder of Jesus's life on earth, a peculiar and unexplained series of healing phenomena. In the course of this three months tour, more than 100 men, women and children from Judea, Adumia, Galilee, Syria, Tyre and Sudan and from beyond the Jordan were beneficiaries of this unconscious healing by Jesus returning to their homes, added to the enlargement of Jesus's fame.

2:57 And this they did, notwithstanding that Jesus would, every time he observed one of these cases of spontaneous healing, directly charge the beneficiary. To quote, tell no man. It was never revealed to us just what occurred in these cases of spontaneous or unconscious healing. The Master never explained to His apostles how these healings were affected, other than on one occasion He remarked when touched by an ailing child. I perceive that life has gone forth from me. Quote. In the absence of direct word from the Master regarding the nature, it would be permissible to record our opinion that, being the revelators of such healing phenomena. We believe that many of these apparent miracles of healing were the result of the coexistence of the following three powerful, potent and associated influences #1 the presence of strong, dominant and living faith in the hearts of the human beings who persistently sought healing. Together with the fact that such healing was desired for the spiritual benefits rather than for purely physical restoration #2 the existence of the great sympathy and compassion of the Incarnated and mercy dominated Creator, Son of God, who actually possessed the unlimited

4:28 and timeless creative healing powers and prerogatives. 3 Along with the faith of the creature and the life of the Creator, it should also be noted that this God Man was the personified expression of the Father's will. If in the contact of the human need and the divine power to meet it, the Father did not will, otherwise the two became one, and the healing occurred unconsciously to the human Jesus, but was immediately recognized by His divine nature. Many of these cases of healings must be found in a great law which has long been known to us, namely what the Creator's Son desires and the Eternal Father wills is, and they write quote in the personal presence of Jesus. Certain forms of profound human faith were literally and truly compelling in the manifestation of healing. Many others sought healing for holy, selfish purposes. They write.

5:38 For example, a rich widow of Tyre continued to offer more and more money to Jesus, as if the power of God were something to be purchased by the highest bidder. But never would she become interested in the gospel of the Kingdom. It was only the cure of her physical ailments that she sought. And that paragraph speaks to motives. The rich widow wanted to be healed, but her motive was self-centered and had little to do with spiritual desire. By the way, in the Urantia book, the word faith appears 750 times Quote. Only the personal experience of the faith sons of the Heavenly Father can affect the actual spiritual realization of the personality of God.

6:28 End Quote. In another quote, it says in its true essence, religion is a faith, trust in the goodness of God. God could be great and absolute, somehow even intelligent and personal and philosophy. But in religion, God must also be moral. It must also be good. The entire experience of adjuster or spirit communion is 1 involving moral status, mental motivation, and spiritual experience as pertains to mortal minds. Among the mortals everywhere is this. We are also told mind alone cannot survive mortal death without spirit.

7:09 Mortal mind without immortal spirit cannot survive. They say the mind of man is mortal. Only the bestowed spirit is immortal. That statement literally means that your faith does save you from material cessation. It does save you from mortal death. Faith. How many times did we hear from even Melchizedek who taught Abraham by your faith you are saved. In the Bible and churches everywhere they tell us it is your faith in God that saves you. Jesus said that many times to his apostles and his followers. It is your faith that saves you. And faith, what do they refer to it? Before reconstructive power, It's tapping into spiritual energy.

7:54 So we've looked at Jesus's miracles and how faith is an adjutant factor, and we've also differentiated between mind and spirit and how faith connects the two. Faith is a willful act of the mortal mind in willing partnership with the Spirit to join in that eternal adventure. And I sort of think of it as wings. Faith are wings. It allows the eagle to soar just like the faith of a man makes it possible for the miracle of Jesus to have healed them. We, we spent a little bit of time on on faith. And I also want to give attention to something that's kind of new to this program.

8:43 We haven't done it a long time, but with all of the different conversations that are going on in social media, and that's what they really are. They're they're conversations. I want to roll out a couple of interesting conversations that caught my eye. And here this week, here's one from author Eric Metaxas. I I know Eric, I've worked with him briefly and he's a great writer, great Christian, always has interesting things to say. And he's interviewing A theologian about Adam and Eve. Take a listen. Adam and Eve, what's your best guess when they were alive? Well, the best scientific date we got is 150,000 years ago ±100,000 years. We don't have a really good It's because there's no radioisotope clock between 50,000 years ago and 250,000 years ago. We have to use indirect methods and often in the literature they give you the statistical error, but they don't give you the systematic error, which could shift things by 50,000 years up or down.

9:44 So I actually argue we get a more accurate date from the Bible than we get from the scientific evidence. And we also get more of an accurate date from the Urantia book than from the Bible because they put it at about where he pegs it around 50,000 years ago. Actually, the Urantia book says about 40,000 years ago, that's when Adam and Eve arrived. They were the third epical revelation of revelatory truth. And their blood survives in most of humanity, probably all of humanity on some level. So they are still a big contributing factor to our, maybe not as much as our spiritual development, but certainly our intellectual development. OK, here's an interesting one for those of you who listen to Tucker Carlson.

10:31 This is him having a discussion about the Nephilim. You ever had conversations about the mighty men of old, men of old mentioned in the Bible and the giants of those days mentioned in Genesis? So there's still the question of not only who were the Nephilim, but what were the Nephilim? And here's a little interesting conversation. And then I'll give you a Uranti book footnote at the end of this, because we know, of course, hold on, here we go. The Nephilim, as described in Genesis 6, this race of giant people who are hybrid between the spirit world and the human world, and they're the reason that God sent the flood. This is all described in Genesis. They were giants. The claim from some people is that's actually real, and the fossil record proves it's real because giant bones, human bones, have been found through the years and that some or a lot of them wind up with the Smithsonian where their existence was suppressed.

11:22 Yes. You're saying there's actually documentary evidence that that may be true? Yes, there's documentary evidence that Smithsonian has received bones and large coffins from that that long ago. We're talking maybe the 50s or 60s. And there was one case where the Smithsonian said we did receive the bones, but we don't know where they are. Well, if you received human bones that were larger than any human bones ever described in literature ever, other than Genesis 6. Kind of a big story. And you see that story repeated over and over again, especially in America, for hundreds of years. OK, so here the quote from 77, Section 2, paragraph three of the Urantia book where it tells us specifically who the Nephilim are. And you can take this to the bank, share it with all your Christian friends if you ever get into an interesting conversation.

12:12 And Tucker Carlson, if you happen to perchance be listening to this podcast, you can find what I'm reading in paper 77 from the Urantia book where it talks about the post rebellion era on Urantia. This is after the fall of the Calagasia 100. And while I'm not sure about this, I, I tend to believe that the Anunnaki were probably descendants of the 100. And and the reason for that is because the root word of Anunnaki were the Anon, which means 1. And I relate that to the 100. And we know the 100 went on after the rebellion, after Kalagastia, you know, threw in his lot with Lucifer and Satan.

12:54 And this was what 250,000 years ago when there was war in heaven? And the result of that is described in paper 77 of the Urantia book. The post rebellion era on Urantia witnessed many unusual happenings. A great civilization, the culture of the Dalmatia was going to pieces, the Nephilim. And they specifically used the word Nephilim. And then in parentheses they write the Nodites, which is derivative of the land of Nod from Genesis, where Cain is banished, to the land of Nod where the Nephilim live. Where on earth in those days and when these sons of gods went into the daughters of men and they bore them children, their children were the mighty men of old, the descendants of the Nephilim, the men of renown. And while hardly the sons of God, the staff and their early descendants were so regarded, regarded by the evolutionary mortals of those distant days.

14:02 Interesting. A pastor is asked. This is one of my favorites that I've seen recently. What is God? Can you explain that to me? I am confused being philosophically consistent and being very honest person. I'm sure you can tell me where God came from. Please try to clarify how you can figure that a spiritual force can have an impact on a material universe to create it. All right, your question, where did God come from? Assumes that you're thinking of the wrong. Obviously it displays that you're thinking of the wrong God because the God of the Bible is not affected by time, space, or matter.

14:43 If he's, if he's affected by time, space, or matter, he's not God. Time, space, and matter is what we call a continuum. All of them have to come into existence at the same instant. Because if there were a matter but no space, where would you put it? If there were a matter in space but no time, when would you put it? You cannot have time, space, or matter independently. They have to come into existence simultaneously. The Bible answers that in 10 words. In the beginning, there's time. God created the heaven, space, and the earth. There's matter, so you have time, space. Matter created a Trinity of trinities there. Just as you know, time is past, present, future. Space has length, width, height. Matter has solid, liquid gas. You have a Trinity of trinities created instantaneously, and the God who created them has to be outside of them.

15:27 If he's limited by time, he's not God. The guy who created this computer is not in the computer. He's not running around and they're changing the numbers on the screen. OK, the God who created this universe is outside of the universe. He's above it, beyond it, in it, through it. He's he's unaffected by it. So for and the I the concept that of a spiritual force cannot have any effect on a material body. Well, then I guess you'd have to explain to me things like emotions and love and hatred and envy and jealousy and and rationality. I mean if your brain is just a random collection of chemicals that form by chance over billions of years, how on earth can you trust your own reasoning processes and the thoughts that you you think? OK so your your question where did God come from is assuming a limited God and that's your problem. The God that I worship is not limited by time, space, or matter.

16:19 If I could fit the infinite God in my 3 LB brain he would not be worth worshipping that's for certain. So that's the God that I worship. Thank you. That's a good good and you know, if anyone a good starting place for the rancher book. I've always, I believe, were the first five papers if you if you if that part grabs you, then the rest of the book is pure joy and from paper 2, Section 1, dovetailing on what this pastor just said quote how pure and beautiful, how deep and unfathomable is the supernal ancestor of all things. The Infinite is most excellent in that He imparts himself to men, is the beginning and the end, the Father of every good and perfect purpose. With God all things are possible. The Eternal Creator is the cause of causes. He stands outside of time, space. He is the creator of time and space and matter as well. Last note.

17:18 This I found to be inspiring. Trust God. Trust where you're being pulled. Trust what you're being asked to let go of. It's not the faint of heart that follow this narrow path. It's the courageous soldier that knows that God is going to work through you and impact many, many people on this planet. So stay focused. Stay on this narrow path. You're deeply, deeply loved.
