About The Host
Urantia Radio host Jim Watkins was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and attended Columbia School of Broadcasting in 1982 in Hollywood, the same year he discovered The Urantia Book and purchased a copy at B Dalton Books on Hollywood Boulevard for $20.

After years of travel, attending study groups all over the country, Jim was inspired to produce a podcast that allowed new readers of the Urantia Book (or fellow truth seekers) to become more familiar with the revelatory text. Later, Jim was inspired to write and self-publish three books, two on the Urantia Book: A New Revelation in 2015 (also translated into Korean a short time after), and The Gift in 2023. Jims' third book Godless: How Secularism Will Destroy Society , is a collection of writings inspired by Paper 195 in the Urantia Book, and was self-published in 2023.
On his personal Urantia Book discovery, Jim says:
"When I opened it for the first time, I felt its authenticity right away; the first five papers about God made me weep from joy; the Life and Teachings of Jesus also gave me a profound experience of both joy and sadness. I have never grown tired of studying the papers, and its impact on my life is impossible to describe, except to say I believe this book presents a concept of a living universe filled with possibilities you've never dreamed possible, until now. It therefore seems fitting to share 'the good news.'"
The podcast was launched in mid 2017, and over 180 episodes have been published - each covering a different paper or topic in the Urantia Book - and the podcast has thus far attracted over 200,000 listeners from over 45 countries.
Part commentary, part deep analysis and part interview-driven, the podcast features special guests, relevant topics and a mix of music, testimony, social updates, and sound clips that are woven into a narrative that explores the varying topics within the Urantia Papers. Listeners can also contribute comments, questions and articles to the Urantia Radio Blog.
Archived Interviews include Mo Siegel, the Urantia Foundation president, and Urantia community influencers Dr. Meredith Sprunger, Physicist and philsopher Stephen Meyer, Reverend Joshua Wilson, author Larry Mullins (History of the Urantia Book), Gabriel Rymberg (who translated the Urantia Book into Hebrew, and subsequently launched Center for Unity,) Rick and Susan Lyon, also co-founders of CFU, researcher and historian Halbert Katzen (UBAnnotated.com), Engineer and UB influencer Joel Garbon, the esteemed author Byron Belitsos, founder of the Rodan Institute, including UB global missionary extraordinare Aprilhelen, the late Dr. Bishop Shelby Sponge (on the reformation of Christianity), researcher Dr. Jenny Martin, and so on.
