Our Sister Planet

In this episode, we look at Paper 72, which tells us about life on a sister world where they have human inhabitants much like ourselves.

This could quite possible be the most important episode ever to appear on the Urantia Radio podcast. Please share with ten people that you know.

00 In a moment, what can life on our neighboring? World teach us about ourselves. That's coming up on the Rancho. Radio Podcast. I want this to be the most. Explosive episode. I've ever done. I want every person who hears. This episode to share it. With 10 people, and I want those ten people to share it with 10 other people. Think about it. What is the world obsessed with? If there was one question that every human being could ask. What would it be?

40 I mean. Besides the. Question about. Life after death, What is the big question? Well, we. Already know what the Urantia book says? About life after death. It confirms it. It not only confirms it, it. Provides a rich. Detailed narrative of the eternally scaffolding existence. That follows. What this is, is preschool. We are in preschool on this planet and when we graduate from. Preschool, we will. Go on to Jerusalem, where we start to learn the language of the system and we learn about philosophies and service, and we spend maybe a few 100 or maybe a few thousand years being taught this cosmic alphabet. We learn who's who and the do's and the don'ts living as Marancha beings in a Marancha society, ascenders who retain the valuable lessons of preschool, of pre existence. That's a pretty good example of what the Orancha book shares and it is such a powerful message.

41 I mean, I've dedicated over 200 podcasts, each one stepping you through the myriad of details that make up. The 5th epical. Revelation. And there is a reason they call it. Epical. Because we're not only getting our own history. Told back to. Us getting all the missing pieces that time has forgotten but think about. The fact. That for 996,000 years of man's existence we only started writing things down a few 1000. Years ago this. Explains why we have so many legends. And stories. Of strange things, fables, lore and some fragments of truth the Urantia book tells.

22 US. Someday more people will want to know about it, but not. Today. Today there are. So many challenges, it's hard. To keep up. In some ways, things are miraculous. Last year for. Example the United States. Created over a. 1000 new millionaires. The global mortality. Rate is as low as it's ever. Been more people have access to information than ever before and the. Literacy rate is also as low. As it's ever been in a human history. So there are some good things about us. Our unseen friends say we are making. Progress, but we are also. Beset by many challenges, and chief among them is our lack of understanding of spiritual. Truth we are.

06 Mostly ignorant to what is happening beyond. Our scope of. Vision. We are unaware. There is a spiritual. Agency that surrounds us, we just don't see them. Truths and literal. Agencies behind the scenes. Who rule? In the kingdoms of men. This is why they gave us the Urantia book to tell. Us, what's going on in our universe, They want us to know. They also went a step. Further. And told us. About this other world our sisters fear. And they tell. Us what life is like there. I wish people. Listening to me right now could really grasp the impact of that. Statement because today the whole world.

49 Is fascinated. By the idea. Of life on other worlds. We've been asking that question for as long as humanity has been around. Even the Cavemen were drawing spaceships and weird robot looking creatures. So the notion of a world that is similar to our own. Should. Set the world on fire. The. Audaciousness of this. Book taking the incredulous step. Of informing us of this. True Sister sphere. Probably not too. Far away either, Perhaps a few. Solar systems over. But it's there, just like we're here. What does it say about this world? A lot in. Fact they start.

31 Off by telling us why they're sharing this off world information with us. They said it's because of. Two things the extraordinarily similar circumstances. Both our worlds have. Faced in our past and the second thing, which is probably the more important of the two, They want to help us, they know. What our societal. Challenges are and they want to show us what these races on this other world are. Doing to progress. Towards a more. Peaceful and less regressive culture. Reaching for that pinnacle. We are told is the era. Of light and life. Which all. Evolutionary worlds are intended to do just in saying what I have said.

13 Addresses several subjects. At once #1 The narrative of this life on another world establishes a context. That states life is elsewhere. And we are not alone #2 it. Provides for the. Notion that life forms. Have a specific path of. Evolution that, while not identical, favors a certain path the evolution of intellectually insightful bipedal. Races. And these races of men and women are in fact common on evolutionary worlds. And then number. Three by. Providing this narrative of our neighboring world, we are being simultaneously informed. That worlds are observed. Most likely in the same way that our world is being observed. Imagine.

01 How our world leaders would behave. Knowing that they were being observed by an advanced. Species of super. Material and angelic beings, Do you think they would start to behave differently? I would think that they would, and this is perhaps the point. They want us to know, they know about us and they also administer to us. To keep our races on a. Proper path. If you look at the wars, the cities. Crumbling, the build up towards more wars and the sinking feeling that people are getting about society in general. It might bring comfort to our world to know that we are not alone and this paper on a neighboring planet, not only. Declares the fact, but also offers. Guidance in solving our own.

52 Terrestrial problems. It's. Probably one of the most. Powerful chapters. In the entire Urantia book and it. Deserves a good. Examination. Paper 72. Opens with a. Story about this. World and how it has. Evolved. Along a similar path to our own. So on this world we are. Told there are. 11 continents and the world is mostly. A savage place.

36 But the most advanced continent on this planet? Is described as. Being about the size of the land mass of Australia and there are on this continent, within the borders of this country, 100 free. States each with. Its own governor, but under the control. Of what appears to be a. Republic similar to our own. We have 50 states under a federal government like us. This government is roughly comprised of about 100 million people, and the government is very similar to our own. It has an executive branch, a judicial branch, and a representative upper and lower House of lawmakers, very similar to our own government and many other Western democracies. To be sure.

21 So I think they're trying to draw that comparison also like our own government. There are states, as I mentioned 100 and all, and they have a strong. Level of state. Government as well as smaller district bodies, again, not unlike we have city councils and state houses or assemblies. Now the authors. Tell us this. Government was formed about 200 years ago, similar to our own and they. Too had slavery. Until it was abolished around 100 years ago now, at the time of the writing of the Urantia book. So along the same line timeline. Abolished slavery. Around the time that we did here on our world, the Urantia book says other similarities.

04 Are the fact that they. Too had an Adam and Eve. That defaulted they too. Had a planetary Prince who joined the Lucifer rebellion similar to what we experienced according the Urantia book when Calagastia threw in his lot with Lucifer and Satan and they too on this. World have endured without the guidance of a spiritual. Influence that is normally afforded evolutionary worlds so in these. Ways. They're very similar to our own planet and this point. Establishes the fact that all. Worlds are normally. Exposed to. Advanced spiritual personalities in the early. Years of its.

45 Evolution. That would be. Considered normal. Our world and this other world are considered abnormal. On our world, and apparently on this other world, we were. Deprived of that. Early spiritual knowledge and that explains why we continue to have so much turmoil. What the? Revelators also inform us is that unlike. Our world this. Other world did not get the visitation of a divine Son as. We were blessed with a bestowal of Jesus. There is mention, however, that a magisterial Son of Light could soon come to our sister. World. And that this country is slowly evolving towards enlightenment, increased and improved social conduct and is moving away from its belligerent past.

33 Meanwhile, they. Also tell us. That the rest of the nations on this planet. Are quite barbaric by their. Standards Try to imagine what that might be like to be surrounded by other continents where they're. They're brutal. And they have. Dictatorships. And are very. Warlike, it's not. Actually, that hard to imagine at all is. It they. Also mentioned that the country is self-sufficient due to. The Topography. Of the planet and their nation, and they have plenty of local. Resources. So they don't have to deal. With their less. Civilized neighbors, do you want to hear about their home life? Or how about? Their political government. These subjects are covered as well as how. They run their government, who they educate and how they. Educate their children how they.

17 Deal with crime and how they. Deal with healthcare. And taxation, judging from the description of this nation, it. Appears they are at about the place where we were. At the 20th century, they're definitely in the machine age to be. Sure. But I'm not. Sure, if certain. Things. Were withheld because. Of our own status at the time the Arantia book was written. They may have had computers and airplanes or an Internet. It's unlikely that their technology would have been. Revealed to us. I think the mandate limits what they can tell. Us however what they did disclose forces us to re evaluate the way that.

58 We do things on our. World which I. Think was the point. So let's take a minute to gather our thoughts and in a moment. We'll take a look at the the way these. People live on this world. Our sisters fears. Somewhere out there, in a Galaxy far away. Now before. We take our deep dive. Some things we are not. Told IS. How many Suns they have, for example, or if they have a moon. They're very good. At not disclosing information that might aid our astronomers and being. Able to locate this world. Good idea. We also don't know about the length of a year. But they do tell us that the average. Lifespan on this nation is 90.

46 They also. Appear to be a mixture of the blue and yellow races. Which for us would be. Like a race of mixed Anglo-Saxon and Chinese. They also tell. Us that no metropolitan area can have more than 1,000,000 residents and that every family home is mandated to have at. Least 30. 1000 square feet. And that the moral training of children comes from the home, not from schools. Agriculture is also. Hugely popular on this world, they teach it in schools, families have farms and there is a competitive nature to this agrarian society. Horticulture on this world is not seen as punishment, but a human endeavor with regard.

30 To. Policies. It mirrors much of what the United States is doing. There are. Parties, there's an. Executive leader people. Who are in politics must go through statesmanship. School. Great idea. One side note, people who get elected can also. Face fierce. Penalties, even death. If they cheat or steal or display. An abuse of. Power. On this world. Public loyalty is. Deemed a supreme trust and those who. Violate it. Face serious penalties we are told some things about. How they deal? With crime, Which? They describe as. Shocking by our standards.

11 But they also. Tell us the crime rate in this nation is 110th. Of what we. Experience In most Western nations, most criminals are sent to agricultural fields and people who face jail time must still contribute to society by learning a skill. They inform us that everyone works on this nation and it is considered slothful to not work. Or have a. Job even shameful even the richest person in the country, they say. Has a job. And that the. Average work day is 6 hours that public. Service is deemed a very high honor education appears very different and the way they.

51 Teach in school is. Fascinating, actually. Students are instructed. To teach the students. Behind them. Teachers teach by oratory. And they emphasize hands on instruction. Schools compete in this way, and the whole philosophy of industry is not so much profit as it is a meritocracy. A pursuit of. Excellence. There is obviously much more detail. To all of this but the take away. Is that if human beings were. Really, seriously curious. About what life might. Be like out there we have. In our possession. A realistic portrayal. Of one such. World. Similar to our own that we can study and learn from with the hopes of improving our life here on.

36 Earth. Perhaps this? Becomes one of the most. Important Chapters. In. The entire book because it is actually applicable. To the here and now, something that we can actually learn from and try on our own. In fact, in looking at this. Besides the Jesus? Papers. I'm not sure there is a more important section in the Urantia book than this section. Paper 72. If it's true. Like many things in the Urantia book. Appear to be. Then this. Paper will have scholars. Academics and philosophers talking about it for centuries. And who knows, maybe one day we may even connect with the. People.

23 Of this neighboring planet. I find it fascinating, so much so that I really wanted to dig deep into this episode. I want you to ask me a question if you've got a question about the Urantia book. In fact, that's one thing that I wish more people would do. I created the website so that you could very easily. Send a message. You don't have to sign up for anything and you can even leave a comment or you can leave a voicemail. The Rancho Radio. Podcast the website. Is your Rancho. Radio.org.
