The Big Picture

2:17 They say that it is utterly beyond the grasp of finite imagination. They write. The enormousness of the master universe staggers the concept of even my own order of being. But the mortal mind can be taught much about the plan and arrangement of the universes. You can know something of their physical organization and marvelous administration. You may learn much about the various groups of intelligent beings who inhabit the seven super universes of time and the central universe of Eternity. They write to created beings. The Master universe might appear to be almost infinite, but it is far from finished.

3:00 There are still physical limits to the material creation, and the experiential revelation of the eternal purpose is still in progress, they write. The universe of universes is not an infinite plane, a boundless cube, nor a limitless circle. It certainly has dimensions. The laws of physical organization and administration prove conclusively that the whole vast aggregation of force, energy, and matter power functions ultimately as an organized and coordinated whole. The final proof of both a circular and delimited universe is afforded by the to us well known fact that all forms of basic energy ever swing around the curved path of the space levels of the mastery Universe in obedience to the incessant and absolute pull of Paradise gravity.

4:01 Proceeding outward from paradise through the horizontal extension of pervaded space, the Master Universe is existent in six concentric ellipses, the space levels encircling the central aisle. In the not far distant future, new telescopes will reveal to the wandering gaze of Urantian astronomers no less than 375,000,000 new galaxies in the remote stretches of outer space. At the same time, these more powerful telescopes will disclose that many island universes formerly believed to be in outer space regions are really a part of our galactic system of Orvington.

4:48 Orvington, by the way, is the name of our super universe. the Super universes, including our own, are still growing. From Paper 12, Section 3. All forms of force, energy, material, mindel or spiritual are alike subject to those grasps, those universal presences, which we call gravity. Personality is also responsive to gravity, to the Father's exclusive circuit. Now taking a a note, a side note, we're being told here there are three forms of energy that are measurable.

5:28 And there is a section in these papers, which I won't go into too deeply now, that talks about the research that they conducted, research that shows that most of the activity going on in the present age is limited to just the seven universes of which we are apart. And very little activity is happening in the four outer regions outside the present grand universe. So if you can follow me, what that means is our present universe is both young and active. It is growing outward with new life, evolving on new worlds. God's present grand universe is still unfolding. This section also delves into the concepts of time and space and how they interact with creation. So for example, paper 12 Section 4 reads space is from the human viewpoint, nothing negative.

6:26 It exists only as related to something positive and non spatial. Space is however real. It contains and conditions motion. Space even moves like space-time is a bestowal of paradise, but not in the same sense, only indirectly. Time comes by virtue of motion, and because mind is inherently aware of sequentiality. Man's mind is less time bound than space bound because of the inherent nature of mind. Even during the days of the earth, life, and the flesh, though, man's mind is rigidly space bound.

7:11 The creative human imagination is comparatively time free, but time itself is not genetically a quality of mind. I like that paragraph, especially when it talks about that we're space bound but not time bound. We can think of the past, we can think of the present, We can project the future. We remember things in a sequential order. Think about how great it is that you and I can sit in a living room or somewhere on the beach and have a mental picture of all of the great moments of our life that have spread apart so many years and decades. That's an amazing thing that we we just simply take for granted.

7:53 But that's that's the mind at work. Let's close with the anecdote that I think you'll find encouraging. The narrator speaks of the present grand universe as being fully active. Paper 12 enforces the idea that the Father and the Trinity are fully engaged in its administration of the universe. We are part of that activity, Michael. Coming to our world is part of that activity. The angels doing the biddings and counseling us and helping us is part of that activity. But then the narrator projects the someday participation of what happens in the outer regions, regions which are today only in their infancy.

8:40 Here's what the perfector of wisdom has to say about the future. He says that we know very little of the significance of these tremendous phenomena of outer space. A greater creation of the future is in process of formation. We can observe its immensity, we can discern its extent and sense its majestic dimensions, but otherwise we know little more about these realms than do the astronomers of Urantia. As far as we know, no material being on the order of humans, no angels or other spirit creatures exist in this outer ring of nebula, Suns and planets.

9:26 This distant domain is beyond the jurisdiction and the administration of the Super universe governments. They say that it is believed that a new type of creation is in process, an order of universes destined to become the scene of the future activities of the assembling core of the finality. Those are mortal ascenders. That's you and me. And then he writes. And if our conjectures are correct, then the Endless future may hold for all of you the same enthralling spectacles that the endless past has held for your seniors and predecessors.

10:08 It's a concept that spurs the imagination and should provide hope to those who speculate as to what it all means. And I felt compelled to share it with you as a way of illustrating, yet again, why the Urantia book is not only unique, but original. You can sense the ring of truth that comes from the author spoken as if these events are speculations and wholly real and ongoing all around us. But we also, hearing about this, understand that most people are in the dark about all of it. How transformative would it be if more people knew the truth of these things?
